  • Victor Osimhen is still on the radar of English Premier League side Chelsea
  • The Blues are reportedly ready to pay the Napoli striker's release clause
  • The Super Eagles star is also linked with Arsenal, Manchester United and PSG

Chelsea are reportedly willing to match Victor Osimhen's release clause at Napoli amid links with English Premier League rivals Arsenal and Manchester United.

The Blues have been one of the teams monitoring Osimhen's situation at Napoli and are planning to bring him to Stamford Bridge in the summer.

Chelsea is desperate for a top-class striker after failing to get the quality they need in Nicolas Jackson.

The Senegalese striker has failed to hit the back of the net for Chelsea consistently, which has majorly affected their season in the EPL.

According to a report by Caught Offside, the Blues are said to be ready to pay the Super Eagles star's release clause at the end of the season.

The Nigerian international recently signed a new deal with Napoli and reportedly has a release clause of around €120-130 million in his contract.

With many top clubs showing strong interest in the Nigerian striker, Chelsea are said to have moved ahead of others in the race as they are currently negotiating with Napoli for the services of the reigning African Footballer of the Year.

The major obstacle Chelsea would face in the deal is reaching an agreement with Napoli, as agreeing on personal terms with Osimhen wouldn't be a problem for the London-based side.

The competition from Arsenal, Manchester United and Paris Saint-Germain could also be an issue for the Blues as they would have to up their bid for the former Lille striker in order to win the race.

Napoli lineup several names as Osimhen's replacement

Sports Brief earlier reported that Napoli have lined up several names as Osimhen's replacement this summer.

Reports of the attacker attracting interest from the English Premier League as well as the French Ligue 1 have heralded the European transfer scenes lately.

The club's hierarchy wants to make the most of what is gradually becoming an inevitable sale of the talismanic forward.
