- He was forced off the pitch with a shoulder injury after 11 minutes
Sergio Aguero suffered a horror injury after his shoulder 'popped out' during a Legends match in Argentina. The retired striker was making a return to football following his early retirement due to a heart condition in 2021.
He featured in a match celebrating his first club, Independiente marking 120 years of existence. Aguero played 54 times for the club before moving to Atletico Madrid in 2006.
The striker only lasted 11 minutes of the game after a challenge from Juan Eduardo Eluchans saw him hit the ground shoulder first.
Talk Sports reports that he disclosed to a pitchside reporter that his shoulder came out. He was, however, spotted smiling and in high spirits even as he clutched his shoulder.

Will Aguero return to playing football?
Aguero announced his retirement in 2021 after only playing four times for Barcelona. He was forced to come off in the first half of a La Liga match against Alaves in what was later described as heart arrhythmia.
He recently denied reports that he was primed to make a comeback to football.
"It's totally a lie; I'm not going to train with Independiente. Sometimes, things are invented. I reiterate that the cardiologist said that I am well and that it is important that I am in good health. But to return to training at the First Division level, I would need to undergo a lot of tests," he said, as quoted by ESPN.
