  • Sadio Mane has expressed disappointment as Al-Nassr dropped points in the Saudi Pro League
  • The Senegalese international is particularly not impressed with his performances in recent times
  • Mane has opened up on his poor show as he also took time out to apologise to the club supporters

The star-studded Al-Nassr are slowly drifting away from the Saudi Pro League title as they dropped points in their last two matches, leaving Sadio Mane gutted.

A 4-4 draw with Al-Hazm and a 3-1 loss to Al-Raed see the Knights of Najd go twelve points behind Al-Hilal who are top of the standings,

It is now a herculean task catching up with the league leaders, with Cristiano Ronaldo making efforts to lift the spirit of his teammates.

The five-time Ballon d'Or winner took to his Instagram handle to state that 'every setback is a lesson for a stronger comeback'.

Mane is left disappointed over his recent performances as he does not feel proud about his role on the pitch of play.

The Senegalese said, as per Essentially Sports:

“I am ashamed of my level, but I promise you that Monday’s match is life or death for me and we will win it for you.”

The former Liverpool forward has now promised to improve on his game as they set for a Monday night clash against Al Ain.

Meanwhile, after helping to revolutionize football in Saudi Arabia, Ronaldo is on the verge of helping Al-Nassr to their first-ever AFC Champions League title.

Cristiano Ronaldo unimpressed

Sports Brief earlier reported that Cristiano Ronaldo's frustration was palpable as he witnessed Al-Nassr's unexpected 3-1 defeat to underdogs Al Raed in the Saudi Pro League on Thursday evening.

The Portuguese star returned to action in the Saudi top flight after serving a one-match ban for his controversial gesture against Al Shabab. However, his presence failed to turn the tide for his team, who continued to struggle.

Despite his attempts to rally his teammates, their performance fell short, leaving him feeling disheartened as they suffered their first home defeat of the season.
