  • Victor Osimhen has been tipped to join Manchester United in the summer by an Italian agent
  • The Super Eagles star is also linked with a move to Arsenal, Chelsea and Paris Saint-Germain
  • The Nigerian international is expected to leave Napoli during the summer transfer window

Italian football agent Roberto De Fanti has claimed that Manchester United could be Victor Osimhen's destination in the summer despite strong interest from Arsenal and Chelsea.

The Super Eagles striker is being linked with a move away from Napoli despite signing a new contract with the club.

The Nigerian international is the reigning African Player of the Year, and he's classified as one of the best strikers in Europe's top five leagues.

In an interview with Teamtalk as per All Nigeria Soccer, De Fanti suggested that Manchester United need a striker, and Osimhen could be the classic number nine the Red Devils should sign.

"The truth is that United, above all, are looking for a centre-forward," he told Teamtalk.
"Hojlund is doing reasonably well, but their new classic 'number nine' could be Osimhen."

Manchester United's Premier League rivals Arsenal and Chelsea are also interested in the Nigerian striker, with Paris Saint-Germain looking at him as a perfect replacement for Kylian Mbappe.

Aside from facing competition from other top European sides, Erik ten Hag's side will face difficulty matching Napoli's asking price for Osimhen.

The former Lille star has a huge release clause, which is at €130 million, a figure that was increased after signing a contract extension a few months ago.

If the Red Devils eventually win the race to sign Osimhen, the Super Eagles striker will have to battle for a spot in the starting XI with Rasmus Hojlund.

Arsenal legend advises Osimhen

Sports Brief earlier reported that Arsenal legend, Thierry Henry, has reportedly advised Osimhen to avoid a particular Premier League club.

The Nigerian international seems set to depart Napoli in the upcoming summer transfer window, with several top clubs, such as Paris Saint-Germain and Chelsea, competing for the opportunity to sign the African Footballer of the Year.
