Nigeria defender, Bright Osayi-Samuel, hogged the headlines in Turkey after boldly confronting a fan following the invasion of the pitch by supporters of Trabzonspor.

The Super Eagles right-back stopped the fan with his sharp self-defence move as the supporter approached holding a weapon.

The game between Fenerbahçe and Trabzonspor was marred after supporters and players clashed right at the final whistle at Papara Park.

The invasion began from the stands after fans and some officials were seen throwing objects at each other.

In a video that has since gone viral on social media, the Nigeria player reacted quickly after spotting a fan who approached with a knife in his hands. Osayi-Samuel displayed incredible martial arts moves to save himself from getting injured by the supporter.

While some players ran to protect themselves, stewards were also seen trying to prevent the situation from further escalating, as reported by The Guardian.

Meanwhile, in the thrilling game, former Manchester United midfielder Fred netted a first-half brace to give Fenerbahçe the lead.

But the host responded through Enis Bardhi and Egyptian forward Trezeguet with 12 minutes remaining.

Former Chelsea striker Michy Batshuayi netted the winner for the visitors with three minutes left.

English clubs show interest in Osayi-Samuel

Earlier, Sports Brief reported that an English Championship club has shown interest in Nigeria and Fenerbahçe right-back Bright Osayi-Samuel ahead of the summer transfer window.

The Super Eagles defender is enjoying an outstanding campaign in the Turkish Super Lig with Fenerbahçe, as they continue their pursuit of the league title.

His performances have seen him pop up on the radar of several clubs with Leeds United top of the list for his signature.

Osayi-Samuel scores in Fenerbache win

Sports Brief also reported that Nigeria defender, Bright Osayi-Samuel scored his first goal for Fenerbahçe this season as they defeated Hatayspor.

Following his return from AFCON, Osayi opened the scoring for the Turkish giants after meeting a teasing cross from ex-Manchester City forward Eden Dzeko halfway through the first half.

Cengiz Ünder doubled the lead for Fenerbahçe just before half-time after finishing off a brilliant assist from Dusan Tadic.
