The quarter-final round of the 2024 FA Cup is done and dusted.

Premier League postponements on Matchday 29

Six matches were postponed in the English top flight over the weekend as the FA Cup staged its quarter-final round.

Among the teams whose league matches were rescheduled were main title contenders Arsenal, Manchester City, and Liverpool.

There was no movement at the top of the table as a result of those postponements, with Arsenal remaining in first place with 64 points.

The Gunners have the same number of points as Liverpool but boast a superior goal difference. Manchester City aren't far behind those two teams, trailing them by just a point.

It's not yet known when those games will be played, but two midweeks are available for the Premier League to place the rescheduled matches.

According to The Athletic, the first of those midweeks falls between Match weeks 34 and 35 from April 23 to 25. The second available midweek falls between Match weeks 37 and 38 from May 14 to 16.

With Manchester City sealing a spot in the semi-finals of the FA Cup, they will need those two midweeks for their now two postponed matches.

Premier League postponements on Matchday 34

The FA Cup semi-finals will take place on April 20, the same weekend as Matchday 34 of the Premier League. Three matches will be postponed during that Match week as a result.

Why Liverpool deserved to lose vs United

Sports Brief recently reported on the reasons why Liverpool deserved to lose their FA Cup match against Manchester United.

One of the reasons cited was that Klopp erred in replacing Mohamed Salah and Andrew Robertson.

Salah, who scored in the first half, was taken off in the 77th minute.
