  • Barcelona and Napoli are tied 1-1 after the Round of 16 first-leg

Barcelona defender Joao Cancelo is weary of the threat Victor Osimhen possesses and acknowledges the Napoli forward is one of the best strikers in the world.

The Catalans are set for a crunch second-leg fixture against the Italians in the UEFA Champions League Round of 16 on Tuesday after both teams played an exciting 1-1 draw in Italy.

According to All Nigeria Soccer, Cancelo, who will be tasked as one of the defenders to stop Osimhen, recognised Osimhen and the rest of the Napoli attack as exceptional talents.

“They are exceptional talents; Osimhen scored with half the ball in the first leg; he is one of the best strikers in the world.”

Osimhen, who scored in the first leg against Barcelona, hopes to rediscover his scoring form, which has seen him score five goals in five appearances for Napoli since his return from the Africa Cup of Nations.

Osimhen is irreplaceable at Napoli

Meanwhile, former England manager Fabio Capello says it will be tough for Napoli to find a replacement for Osimhen if the Nigerian eventually leaves the club in the summer, Daily Post reports.

The Partenopei are already bracing up for the departure of the 25-year-old forward, with English Premier League giants Chelsea, Arsenal, and Manchester United all queuing up to sign him.

French champions Paris Saint-Germain have also been linked with an interest in Osimhen as they plan to sign the Napoli forward as a replacement for the outgoing Kylian Mbappe.

Tottenham backs out of Osimhen race

Earlier, Sports Brief reported that Ange Postecoglou claims Tottenham will not be investing £100 million in a single player, thereby ruling them out of the race to sign Osimhen.

The Nigerian striker has a release clause in the region of £100 million after signing a new contract with Napoli recently.

Osimhen, who is rated as one of the best strikers in Europe, has been reportedly linked with a big move away from Napoli in the summer, with a move to England or France being purported.
