  • Thomas Tuchel will leave Bayern Munich at the end of the season
  • Mauricio Pochettino could be let go at Chelsea after this season
  • The German boss is reportedly keen to return to his former team

Chelsea will likely have another managerial change ahead of next season if the club's hierarchy decides to part ways with Mauricio Pochettino, should they miss out on European places.

The Argentine took over the permanent reins at the club last summer after an extensive four-month managerial search, including speaking to Julian Nagelsmann and Luis Enrique.

Per Bild Sports, former manager Thomas Tuchel, who will leave Bayern Munich at the end of the season, is open to returning to Stamford Bridge if Todd Boehly and co. are ready to hire him.

Sports Brief looks at six reasons why a reunion makes perfect sense for both parties.

Six reasons Chelsea should re-hire Tuchel

1. Proven winner

The German moved Chelsea from Frank Lampard's 'this team is not ready to compete' to saying, 'We will build a team nobody wants to play against'. He delivered the club's second UEFA Champions League trophy in four months. The squad he used has since been dismantled as not good enough, underlining the great job he did with the resources in hand.

2. Unfinished business

Tuchel spent only one full season at Chelsea and finished third behind Manchester City and Liverpool. The Blues under him were in a title race until December before the unfortunate injuries to Reece James and Ben Chilwell detailed their season.

His farewell statement to the club, his last on his official X account, reflected how much he had wanted to be there for many years as he had unfinished business there.

3. Premier League experience

The Bayern Munich boss managed 100 games in charge of the Blues, 63 of which came in the Premier League. He won 35, drew 17, and lost 11. His team scored 109 goals, conceded 55, and won 122 points. This and other top club experiences make him an ideal fit at Stamford Bridge.

4. Pull power

Many fans believe the manager needs better talent identification due to how some of his signings turned out, but one thing is undeniable: if he is at a top club, only a few footballers in the world will turn him down. Todd Boehly's current project does not appeal to top stars, on and the former boss offers a pathway to that.

5. Tactical prowess

You can count in one hand how many managers in the world are tactically better than the former Mainz coach. He never lost against Jurgen Klopp as Chelsea boss in normal time. Per Fan Nation, he was the first manager to beat Pep Guardiola consecutively in three competitions. With the departure of Klopp, he is one of the few who can lead a team to battle Manchester City.

6. Fan appeal

There may be a few who have reservations about his combative attitude toward his superiors and style of play, but they are in the minority, and many fans will welcome him back to Stamford Bridge with open arms.

Four clubs Tuchel could manage after Bayern

Sports Brief alsopreviously analysed four clubs Tuchel could manage after leaving Bayern Munich in the summer, with an agreement already reached over his exit.

Barcelona and Liverpool, who are also set to have new managers following the impending departures of Xavi Hernandez and Klopp, have him on their list.
