Cristiano Ronaldo has issued a stern warning in anticipation of the pivotal AFC Champions League quarter-final second-leg tie against Al Ain.

Despite the setback of a narrow one-nil loss in the initial encounter, the 39-year-old remains undeterred, emphasising the resolve of himself and his Al-Nassr comrades as they brace themselves for the decisive showdown in Riyadh.

The recent defeat, marking Ronaldo's inaugural appearance for the Knights of Najd after his one-game suspension, was indeed a disappointment, according to Daily Sports.

Nevertheless, it has only fueled his determination to propel his side to redemption in the forthcoming clash.

Renowned for his indomitable spirit and knack for delivering in crucial moments, the Portugal captain, fondly known as Mr Champions League for his remarkable exploits in European football, is poised to spearhead his side's charge for a comeback victory.

Ronaldo's warning ahead of Al Ain showdown

As the spotlight intensifies on the looming encounter scheduled for March 11, CR7 has wasted no time in signalling his intent to leave no stone unturned in pursuit of progression.

“Cristiano Ronaldo told me they would win in the return leg in Riyadh,” Khalid Hashemi, who plays for the Emirati club, said as quoted by The Nassr Zone.

With his track record of elevating his game when the stakes are highest, Cristiano's ominous declaration serves as a prelude to what promises to be a riveting battle as Al-Nassr aims to overturn the deficit and secure a coveted semifinal berth in the Asian equivalent of the UEFA Champions League.

Ronaldo spurns chance vs Al Ain

Previously, Sports Brief highlighted Ronaldo's disappointing performance, which fell below his usual standards, particularly in terms of converting scoring opportunities in the first leg against Al Ain.

One notable miss came in the 81st minute when the former Real Madrid star found himself with a prime chance inside the Al Ain penalty area but failed to capitalise from close range.

Despite having a clear sight of goal and only the goalkeeper to beat, Ronaldo's shot was thwarted by Khalid's remarkable save, denying what seemed like an inevitable goal.
