How Valencia vs Real Madrid panned out

The hosts took the lead through Hugo Duro before Roman Yaremchuk doubled the lead inside the first 30 minutes. Vinicius Junior scored a brace, one other side of the break, to ensure the Los Blancos didn't return to the capital empty-handed.

It, however, could have been more for the Carlo Ancelotti-coached team after Bellingham scored with the last kick of the game. The goal was controversially disallowed after referee Gil Manzano blew the whistle to end the game as the ball was swung in.

The incident sparked confrontation at full-time, with Bellingham seeing red for hurling obscenities at the referee.

Bellingham's heartwarming moment with fans

One would have thought the drama could have gotten to the England international's mind, but footage of him interacting with young fans in the tunnel has warmed hearts. The former Borussia Dortmund midfielder signed autographs and took pictures on his way out.

Real Madrid: Ref's decision unprecedented

Sports Brief has also reported that Real Madrid put out a statement condemning the referring decision at the end of their game against Valencia.

Gil Manzano has been roundly criticized by Real Madrid fans and players, with Ancelotti calling for calm.

"What to say? There is not much to say. Something unprecedented has happened. The players are angry, but we all have to calm down."

Bellingham was sent off for his role in shouting at the referee after Real Madrid players milled around the referee after the final whistle.
