The Saturday clash played at City Ground looked set to end in a goalless draw before Liverpool scored the winner with virtually the last kick of the game.

According to SPORTbible, Darwin Nunez was Liverpool's match hero, with the forward netting the winner for his side in the 99th minute.

The Uruguayan forward headed home from Mac Allister's cross to help his side cement their lead at the top of the table.

However, his winner sparked carnage after the full-time whistle, with Forest coach Steven Reid red-carded for what he said to Paul Tierney, who was the centre referee.

Incidentally, Nottingham chairman Marinakis went on to reportedly chase Tierney down the tunnel over his officiating.

The Mirror reports that Marinakis followed Tierney to his office and kept yelling at him to 'respect the players' before the security intervened.

"He and the Forest owner Evangelos Marinakis pursued referee Paul Tierney and fourth official Graham Scott all the way to referee's office yelling at them "Respect the players! Respect the players! This happens every week! Respect the players!" the BBC journalist Rob Schofield was quoted saying on the incident.
"Marinakis had to be removed by security at one stage. The Forest players were furious, Nuno looked absolutely crestfallen," he added.

Meanwhile, Nottingham's loss leaves them sitting 17th in the Premier League, with Liverpool four points clear at the top.

Nottingham star rejects FA Cup results

Earlier, Sports Brief reported on Nottingham Forest star Morgan Gibbs-White openly criticising the manner in which his team lost to Manchester United in the FA Cup using an interesting comparison.

Forest hosted the Red Devils at the City ground on Wednesday, February 28, with Gibbs-White playing the entire 90 minutes.
