  • Marcus Rashford's pressing game against Luton Town has gone viral
  • Manchester United laboured to a 2-1 away victory on February 18
  • Fans have given contrasting opinions of the England star's pressing

Marcus Rashford has irked Manchester United fans after a video of his gameplay against Luton Town surfaced online.

Rasmus Hojlund scored twice to lift the Red Devils to a 2-1 win at Kenilworth Road to maintain their unbeaten record in 2024.

It was a subdued performance from Erik ten Hag's men, with a couple of his players getting flak from fans. Rashford and Alejandro Garnacho topped the list, with the latter missing a couple of chances to put the win to bed for his side.

Fans reaction to Rashford's pressing

Rashford's pressing was also a concern in the middle of the game. The England international was spotted giving little to no pressure to Ross Barkley. Barkley passed the striker with much ease to the fans' frustration.

"I saw this stuff, and my jaw dropped almost instantly," @Dayvees_E said.

@Akkkiii said;

"Watching him play makes me restless; I mean, he doesn't contribute at all sometimes."

His pressing was, however, viewed in a different light by other fans who credited Rashford's work rate. The 26-year-old lasted the entire 90 minutes of the game.

"Rashford was sprinting the length of the pitch constantly in the first half to help at LB while Shaw was getting back from overlapping," @Kade Daniel said.

@Bayu Wicak said,

"He's been creating numerous chances; of course, he needed to conserve his strength in case there's another moment to launch a counter."

Rashford has scored five goals and provided two assists this season as United sit in sixth place, five points from the current Champions League spot held by Aston Villa.

Hojlund makes EPL history

Sports Brief has also reported that Hojlund made Premier League history by scoring a brace against Luton Town.

The Danish striker scored in the opening minute to become the youngest player to score in six successive appearances.

Hojlund had a slow start to his life in England but has since found the back of the next seven times to become United's top scorer in the competition this season.
