Speaking to reporters during a press conference., as captured by Sowetan Live, the 37-year-old expressed confidence in his team's capability to win the CAF Champions League.

"I believe if we still need to send a message [to doubters], something is wrong,"

"Mamelodi Sundowns have proven themselves as one of the best teams on the continent, and we will win the Champions League.

We have to ensure that our focus should be on maintaining our high-quality performances, consistency, and hard work to position ourselves for success."

Further highlighting his team's progress in recent years, the highly regarded manager expressed his belief that the Brazilians are capable of making a mark on the African continent by challenging the dominance of North African teams.

While the manager's claims may seem bold, they are not unfounded, given Sundowns' recent triumph in the inaugural edition of the African Football League in 2023.
