  • Victor Osimhen will be in hot demand by top clubs in June 2024
  • The Super Eagles forward was close to leaving Napoli last summer
  • He tops the most sought-after strikers list in the European leagues

Top European clubs are bracing for the summer transfer window of 2024, with attention set to strikers, mainly, with many already in the news for moves.

Victor Osimhen is at the top of the interest list for many clubs as he looks to take the next step in his career and leave Napoli, with the Premier League as a preferred destination.

Sports Brief looks at the eight most sought-after strikers in Europe.

Most sought-after strikers in Europe

1. Victor Osimhen

The Super Eagles forward is the hottest forward in Europe after helping Napoli win the Serie A last season. Per Evening Standard, he has a release clause of £112 million with Chelsea, Arsenal and Paris Saint-Germain interested.

2. Victor Boniface

Boniface has been in red-hot form for Xabi Alonso's Bayer Leverkusen this season as they are on course to break Bayern Munich's hegemony on the Bundesliga title. He had 10 goals and seven assists in 16 league games this season before he got injured at Nigeria's AFCON camp.

3. Santiago Gimenez

The Mexican striker is one of the potent goalscorers in Europe this season and has scored 22 goals in all competitions for Feyenoord. He has interests in three Premier League clubs based in London.

4. Viktor Gyokeres

Gyokeres is arguably the best striker outside of Europe's top five leagues this season. The Swede has netted 31 goals and provided 11 assists in all competitions this season. Per Goal, Sporting CP want €100mil for their prized asset.

5. Benjamin Sesko

Sesko has yet to replicate his form at RB Salzburg for Leipzig, but at 20 years with enormous potential, the Slovenian remains a striker top European clubs will battle for.

6. Lautaro Martinez

Inter Milan captain Lautaro Martinez is one of the best forwards in Europe this season and is top of the Serie A scoring chart with 23 goals. His transfer is unlikely as the club and player confirmed discussions over a new contract, but never say never.

7. Serhou Guirassy

Guirassy was scoring for fun for Stuttgart in the first half of the German league season before injuries and AFCON disrupted his season. Per The Athletic, he has a meagre release clause of €17.5mil, with English clubs reportedly interested.

8. Dusan Vlahovic

The Serbian was linked with a move away from Juventus last summer. The Old Lady and Chelsea were in a swap desk discussion for Vlahovic and Romelu Lukaku. He looks set to get the deserved move this summer.

De Laurentiis provides update on Osimhen

Sports Brief reported on Aurelio De Laurentiis providing an update on Osimhen, with the striker set to leave Napoli this summer.

The president confirmed he has interest from many clubs and also chipped in that a release clause was inserted into his contract extension last summer, and it is a high one.
