  • PSG manager Luis Enrique is optimistic about what the future holds
  • The ex-Barca boss believes his side will be better without Kylian Mbappe
  • Mbappe has been widely linked with a transfer to La Liga side Real Madrid

Paris Saint-Germain manager Luis Enrique has made a confident assertion regarding his team as they prepare for the prospect of life without their star player, Kylian Mbappe.

Enrique initiated the process of shaping a squad without Mbappe during a Ligue 1 clash with Stade Rennes, substituting the Frenchman while his team was behind on the scoreboard.

When asked about his decision, the former Barcelona coach was direct, indicating that the team is prepared to move forward even if their record goal scorer departs in the summer, per GOAL.

In that particular game, which ended 1-1, the 25-year-old faced jeers from PSG fans, who expressed their dissatisfaction with the player following his announcement of his departure from the club the week prior.

It's reported that the 2018 World Cup winner is poised to join long-time admirers Real Madrid once his contract expires in June amid links to Premier League sides Arsenal and Liverpool.

Enrique's subtle dig at Mbappe, bold prediction

Despite the uncertainty surrounding Mbappe's future, the Spanish tactician remains resolute in his vision for PSG's next season.

In his assessment, the 53-year-old coach appeared to subtly suggest that the team could thrive even without the presence of the Frenchman.

“If all goes to plan, I’m sure we will have a way better squad next season. I’m convinced of that,” he said, as quoted by Fabrizio Romano.

He emphasised that his team would improve in all aspects of the game.

“In the defence, in the attack, physical and also technical/tactical point of view. We will be better. No doubts”.

Mbappe's mum goes house hunting in Madrid

Meanwhile, reports of Kylian Mbappe's anticipated transfer to Real Madrid are intensifying with each passing day. It's been revealed that the striker is set to make the long-awaited move to Spain at the conclusion of this season.

Adding fuel to the speculation, news has emerged that Mbappe's mother, Fayza Lamari, has travelled to Spain, purportedly to search for a new house where her son will reside once the deal is completed, as reported by Sports Brief.

Lamari, who also serves as Mbappe's agent, is expected to play a crucial role in the negotiations regarding her son's future.
