Bruno Fernandes has drawn the ire of football fans after a clip of him feigning injury against Fulham surfaced online.

Harry Maguire scored on either side of a Calvin Bassey opener and an Alex Iwobi winner in the 97th minute to give Marco Silva his first win over Manchester United since his Everton days.

The performance from the home side was lethargic, with the attack line missing Rasmus Hojlund. The Dane, who has shot into prominence with a rich vein of form, sustained a muscle injury that will rule him out for two to three weeks.

Fernandes failed to inspire his side with his creativity, putting in a disastrous performance as the Cottagers ran rings around the Red Devils.

Bruno Fernandes' embarrassing moment vs Fulham

The Portuguese midfielder further angered fans after he went down, asking for a foul after a challenge from Sasa Lukic. Replays show that Lukic did not touch his opponent, who fell to the ground after releasing a shot before looking at referee Michael Oliver for a possible foul.

@BreadCrusader said;

"Players like this make refereeing the game neigh on impossible. This stuff needs calling out every week by pundits, regardless of who it is or what club they play for."

@Omri_Fligel said:

"As a United fan. It's a shame, and it is really not for the first time."

While @WhyKavelli said;

"It's a shame, but he's not the only one doing this; there are many other players in the league that set referees up for failure."

Fernandes fumes at referee

In the same game, Sports Brief reported that Bruno Fernandes fumed at the referee after the final whistle. The skipper appeared incensed by the official's decision as they succumbed to a 2-1 loss.

He was yellow-carded by Michael Oliver, joining Harry Maguire in the book. They play rivals Manchester City in their next game.
