7 players who played for Chelsea and Liverpool

1. Mohamed Salah

The Egyptian international is arguably the greatest player to play for both teams, and he is up against his old side on Sunday at Wembley to win the EFL Cup for the second time in his career.

2. Fernando Torres

The retired Spanish striker's first club in England was Liverpool and spent four seasons at the club before joining Chelsea in 2011.

The World Cup winner spent five years with the Blues, winning the UEFA Champions League, FA Cup and Europa League.

3. Joe Cole

The former England international is popularly known for his time with Chelsea but spent two seasons with the Reds, playing 37 matches.

4. Raheem Sterling

The English forward burst onto the football scene during his breakthrough season with Liverpool but left for Manchester City in 2015 before joining Chelsea in 2022.

Like Salah, he will be up against his boyhood club on Sunday at Wembley.

5. Victor Moses

The AFCON 2013 winner is the only Nigerian on the list. He signed for Chelsea in 2012 from Wigan and was loaned out to Liverpool in the 2013-14 season.

6. Daniel Sturridge

The former Manchester City forward had his best club football career playing for Liverpool in terms of performance but won more trophies during his time at Chelsea.

7. Glen Johnson

The fullback failed to cement his place in Chelsea's first team but had a good time with Liverpool winning the League Cup in 2012.

Africans who scored in EFL Cup final

Sports Brief also listed out the African players who have scored in the EFL Cup final ahead of the Chelsea and Liverpool clash.

The Blues legend Didier Drogba is the player with the most goals in the competition's final with four.
