Mamelodi Sundowns manager, Rhulani Mokwena, has applauded Bongani Zungu for his performance during the Nedbank Cup clash against NB La Masia, saying he does a lot on the pitch.

During their clash against Orlando Pirates, the head coach handed Matias Esquivel a piece of paper and instructed him to pass it on to Mosa Lebusa.

After reading it, Lebusa informed his teammates of the instructions in a spectacular fashion, emphasising the role of the experienced players.

One of the senior and seasoned players at the club is Bongani Zungu, and the team's boss understands the leadership role he has been playing on the pitch. Mokwena said, as per Farpost:

"Bongani, he’s got seniority, he’s got experience, he’s matured, his time in Europe has really helped him to become a top football player, and technically, he is at a very good level.
"He organises the team and [does] a lot of coaching on the pitch, and these are some of the things you don’t really see. He is selfless; he’s a good human being. Bongz looks after the younger ones and the team.
"Bongz gives leadership and coaches the players on the side sometimes even after training, and I saw his leadership during some of the set pieces where he was organizing the team."

Mokwena attracting interest from Europe

Sports Brief earlier reported that Mamelodi Sundowns coach Rulani Mokwena is attracting interest overseas following South Africa's incredible 2023 Africa Cup of Nations campaign.

Most of the Bafana Bafana players play under the young tactician, and they were some of the best players in the team.

The Brazilians' methodical build-up and combination play were evident in the Broos' side throughout the competition.
