Champions League 2023/24 Top Scorers

Erling Haaland (Manchester City, 5 goals)

Haaland remained on course to defend his Champions League Golden Boot title, grabbing a share of the lead in this year's tournament with five goals, per Sporting News.

He scored all of those goals in three consecutive group games, nabbing a couple of braces against BSC Young Boys and netting once against RB Leipzig.

Rasmus Hojlund (Manchester United, 5 goals)

Hojlund still holds a share of the Golden Boot lead despite Manchester United failing to advance to the knockout stage.

He racked up five goals in the group stage, scoring braces against Galatasaray and FC Copenhagen and netting once in the opening match against Bayern Munich.

Antoine Griezmann (Atletico Madrid, 5 goals)

Griezmann grabbed a share of the lead after scoring in four of Atletico Madrid's six games in the group stage.

He scored three goals in two matches against Celtic and netted one goal each in the games against Feyenoord and Lazio.

Alvaro Morata (Atletico Madrid, 5 goals)

Griezmann's teammate, Alvaro Morata, also has been on fire for Atletico Madrid in the Champions League this season.

The Spaniard has found the back of the net five times in Europe, recording a couple of braces in the group stage.

Galeno (Porto, 5 goals)

Galeno soared to the top spot after scoring a spectacular goal against Arsenal in the first leg of their Round of 16 tie.

The Porto star scored the game's lone goal in the 93rd minute, curling in a 25-yard effort to hand the Gunners their fifth straight loss in the Champions League knockout stage.

Napoli and Barcelona cancel each other out

Sports Brief recently reported on the match between Napoli and Barcelona.

Robert Lewandowski opened the scoring for the Catalan giants in that contest.

Victor Osimhen equalised for Napoli in the first leg of their Round of 16 tie, scoring in the 75th minute.
