  • Victor Osimhen has returned to Napoli with a bang after his disappointing turnout at the AFCON 2023
  • The Nigerian international scored the equaliser in the Italian side's UCL second-round tie against Barca
  • The Super Eagles star's goal against the La Liga giants drew different reactions from fans on social media

Super Eagles striker Victor Osimhen is back to his best as he found the back of the net in Napoli's 1-1 draw against Barcelona in the UEFA Champions League.

The Serie A side hosted the La Liga champions in the first leg of the UCL Round of 16 at the Diego Armando Maradona stadium on Wednesday evening.

The match ended in a goalless draw in the first 45 minutes, with the Catalans being the better side.

Former Bayern Munich striker Robert Lewandowski scored the game's first goal on the hour mark after a wonderful through pass from Pedri Gonzalez.

Nigerian striker Osimhen restored parity 15 minutes later as he muscled Inigo Martinez off the ball to hit the ball past Marc-Andre ter Stegen.

The Super Eagles star struggled to get goals at the 2023 Africa Cup of Nations in Ivory Coast, but he's back doing the business for his club side.

Osimhen's goal against Barcelona stirred reactions from fans on social media.

Chelsea begin talks to sign Osimhen

Sports Brief earlier reported that Chelsea have begun discussions to sign Osimhen from Napoli, hoping to outbid their rivals for the Super Eagles striker.

The Blues have the funds to trigger the Nigerian striker's release clause this summer, and they have already begun talks to secure his services for the 2024/25 season.
