- Kylian Mbappe has confirmed his decision to leave Paris Saint-Germain
- Real Madrid are best positioned to sign him as a free agent in the summer
- A Premier League club has shown interest and will rival the Spanish giants
Kylian Mbappe will leave Paris Saint-Germain in the summer, and Real Madrid are favoured to sign him, but a Premier League club has shown interest in adding a twist to the saga.
Mbappe, from his breakout year at Monaco, looked like a player destined to play for Madrid like many other top stars in the world, but PSG signed him in 2017, and he has become a world-beater.
Per Goal, Madrid first attempted to sign him in 2021, offering the Paris club €160 million, which was rejected. Mbappe extended his contract for two years at the end of the 2021/22 season, but the rumours never stopped.
Florentino Perez has been targeting the 25-year-old’s contract running out this summer to attempt to sign him, and the confirmation that he will leave Ligue 1 has presented a golden opportunity.

Man City to rival Madrid for Mbappe
Per Defensa Central, Manchester City have added themselves to the list of potential destinations for the winger and will reportedly do anything it takes to land him.
Spanish Radio network Cadena Ser claimed that the Premier League club have met the player’s representatives, who have also met with the Spanish club.
The Citizens have Erling Haaland, who, alongside the French national team captain, are seen as football's next two biggest superstars. Madrid also reportedly dream of having both players.
The former Monaco star had previously spoken about his admiration for the English top-flight league with Liverpool, one of the clubs who once expressed interest but ruled themselves out due to the financial package of the deal.

FootballKlopp speaks on Mbappe saga
Sports Brief reported on Jurgen Klopp explaining why some clubs can't sign Mbappe despite the 2018 World Cup winner being available as a free agent this summer.
Klopp, who would leave Liverpool at the end of the season, admitted he is not involved, but the wage structure and financial fair play will impede many clubs from making an attempt.
