  • Victor Osimhen is wanted in France as Paris Saint-Germain are monitoring his situation
  • Should Kylian Mbappe leave the French giants, the club could launch a bid for the Napoli striker
  • Chelsea and Arsenal are also said to be interested in the 25-year-old

Following Kylian Mbappe's imminent move to Spanish club Real Madrid, French club Paris Saint-Germain could launch a bid for the Napoli forward.

Mbappe is expected to make a decision about his future soon as Los Blancos edge closer to land the French international.

It was gathered that the Parisians will now search for another striker, with Nigeria's Victor Osimhen already on the radar.

Mbappe's contract will lapse at the end of the season, but the club have made a counteroffer with no agreement in sight.

They are already prepared to cough up “tens and tens of millions of euros” – according to one source – in loyalty bonuses due to him if he does stay and signs another deal.

Osimhen is said to be a strong contender to replace Mbappe, and Napoli have placed a staggering €130 million (£111.2 million) as the release clause in the recent contract he signed last December, Telegraph reports.

Several other European clubs made an attempt to land the 25-year-old last summer, but Napoli priced him out of the market.

English Premier League club Chelsea are said to be favourites to sign the former Lille of France striker, but it remains to be seen, given financial pressures, whether Chelsea can structure a deal and see off the interest from PSG.

Further reports claim Mauricio Pochettino is desperate to improve his squad, especially in the attack, with Osimhen at the top of his list after his three seasons in Serie A.

Arsenal closing in on Victor Osimhen

Sports Brief earlier reported that reports from England have it that North London club Arsenal are closing in on the signing of Nigerian international Victor Osimhen.

Agents of the Premier League club were said to have met with the striker's representatives in a bid to perfect the deal ahead of the summer transfer window.

Arsenal are ready to rival Chelsea for the Napoli forward, who had an outstanding Serie A season with Napoli last year.
