  • Wandile Duba was spotted when Kaizer Chiefs arrived for their PSL match against Royal AM
  • The younger, who had been under the radar in recent times, could earn a spot in the starting line-up for his side

A forgotten Kaizer Chiefs youngster, Wandile Duba, has returned to the squad ahead of their clash with Royal AM.

Duba joined his teammates as they head to Harry Gwala Stadium for Sunday's Premier Soccer League showdown.

The 19-year-old is no longer facing an exit from the club and could be in the starting line-up against Royal AM.

Having made his name in the DStv Diski Challenge, former head AmaKhosi boss Arthur Zwane handed Duba his first senior appearance in 2022.

Since then, he had been under the radar, but two months into Cavin Johnson's reign, Duba was spotted arriving with the Chiefs squad.

Amakhosi will be looking to record a fifth straight match without tasting defeat and climb up the table to increase their chances of a top-two finish.

On the other hand, Royal AM are battling relegation, and they will be seeking results to boost their chances of avoiding relegation.

Daily Sports reports that the hosts currently sit in 14th place out of 16 teams, amassing 18 points from 15 matches so far this season.

In their last five matches, Royal AM secured two victories, suffered two defeats, and played to a draw once.

Royal AM manager speaks

Sports Brief earlier reported that Royal AM manager John Maduka has disclosed why he is not bothered ahead of his team's clash with Kaizer Chiefs in the Premier Soccer League.

The first leg between both sides ended in a goalless draw at the FNB Stadium, with both sides now looking for a win to increase their points on the DStv Premiership table.

In an interview ahead of the mouthwatering clash, Maduka confirmed why he's at ease going into the difficult clash against Kaizer Chiefs.
