  • Kylian Mbappe has announced his decision to leave PSG
  • Real Madrid are favourites to land the France captain
  • Fabio Capello regards Carlo Ancelotti as a mentor for Mbappe

Fabio Capello sees Carlo Ancelotti as a mentor figure, likening him to 'a professor,' which positions him perfectly to guide Kylian Mbappé at Real Madrid.

As reports suggest Mbappé's intention to depart PSG upon the expiry of his contract in June, Real Madrid stands prepared to embrace the French star on a free transfer for the 2024-25 season.

Los Blancos remain the favourites to land the services of Mbappe, and it has been rumoured that personal terms will be agreed in the next few weeks.

Why Ancelotti is ideal coach for Mbappe

Capello believes that the abundance of star players at the Bernabeu won't pose a challenge for Ancelotti, who has previously coached numerous superstars with ease.

When questioned about the approach a manager should take when dealing with a dressing room filled with champions, Capello replied via Gazzetta:

“With his personality. The players immediately judge the coach. They immediately understand whether you have the qualities to lead a group. A coach is like a conductor.
“Carlo is even more, he’s a professor,” continued Capello.
“He has intelligence and charisma and knows how to do it. More importantly, he knows how to line up the team in the best way and he makes them feel important.”

What Javier Tebas said about Mbappe

While Mbappe’s exit from Ligue 1 is almost inevitable, his next destination remains the subject of great speculation.

Prior to reports that he would leave PSG at the end of the season, La Liga President Javier Tebas was unsure whether the 2018 World Cup winner would be in the Spanish top flight next season but admitted the chances had increased.

"I said [the chances] were around 50 per cent some weeks ago, now it's even more,” Tebas said, per The Mirror.
He added: "55-60? Yes, I think so. Every day that passes and Mbappe does not sign the new contract with PSG, the percentage increases. I don't know the costs of Mbappe deal but in any case, Real have an excellent financial situation. They never did crazy things in the recent years."

Tchouameni’s reaction to Mbappe rumours

In other news, Real Madrid superstar Aurelien Tchouameni recently sent the internet into meltdown with his comment on Kylian Mbappe.

Although he did not directly address the speculations, the midfielder shared emojis of popcorn on his X account, likely to imply the Mbappe saga was only going to get more entertaining.
