  • Erik ten Hag is keen to strengthen the Manchester United squad ahead of the summer
  • The Dutchman is said to have identified at least five players United should push for
  • Everton star Jarrad Branthwaite and Pedro Neto are top on ten Hag's transfer wishlist

Erik ten Hag has reportedly drawn up a transfer shortlist of players he wants Manchester United to target ahead of the summer transfer window.

United have endured a mixed run of form and results across competitions that has seen ten Hag come under immense pressure.

The Red Devils are already out of the Champions League and the Carabao Cup and stand no realistic chance of challenging for the Premier League.

As such, the FA Cup represent their only golden opportunity to end the season with a trophy, while a top-four finish will also be given a big push.

Given the prevailing circumstances, United were initially expected to strengthen their squad during the January transfer window.

However, the Old Trafford dwellers made no signing, with priority said to have shifted to the summer window.

According to The Mirror, ten Hag has already stepped up a transfer plan for the summer, with a number of players included in the shortlist.

Sports Brief takes a look at the five players the Dutchman is targeting.

1. Jarrad Branthwaite (Everton)

The highly-rated Everton defender is thought to be top of ten Hag's transfer wishlist.

The United boss is desperate to reinforce his defence, with the likes of Lisandro Martinez and Luke Shaw suffering recurrent injuries.

Raphael Varane is also facing an uncertain future at Old Trafford, with reports suggesting he could depart.

The Red Devils will have to contend with competition from Tottenham Hotspur in their bid to sign Branthwaite, while Arsenal and Chelsea have also made inquiries.

2. Jean-Clair Todibo (Nice)

Still in defence, ten Hag is also said to be looking in the direction of Jean-Clair Todibo.

The 24-year-old has previously been linked with a move to Old Trafford.

Currently playing for Nice, Sir Jim Ratcliffe is expected to play a key part if United are to sign the 24-year-old.

3. Leny Yoro (Lille)

The teenage sensation is reportedly another defensive option for the Red Devils.

However, Paris Saint-Germain are also thought to be keen on a move.

4. Pedro Neto (Wolves)

The attacking department, especially on the flanks, is understood to be a key priority for ten Hag.

With Jadon Sancho all but expected to leave and Antony struggling for form, signing a prolific winger has become critical.

Reports suggest Wolves' Pedro Neto is on the shortlist for the role.

5. Michael Olise (Crystal Palace)

Finally on this list is Michael Olise.

The People's Person reports that the Crystal Palace winger is one of the names on United’s transfer wishlist of possible attacking reinforcements.

On his part, Olise is said to be tempted with moving to Old Trafford.

Ole regrets Ronaldo's Man United return

Earlier, Sports Brief reported on Solskjaer regretting Ronaldo's return, admitting it was beautiful at the beginning, but it probably should not have happened.

In a recent interview in India, the former United boss conceded the reunion was unnecessary.
