AFCON 2023: Super Eagles warned not to underrate Angola ahead of quarter-final tie

Former Barcelona winger, Emmanuel Amuneke, has expressed his desire to take over as the next Super Eagles coach, following uncertainties surrounding the future of Jose Peseiro.
The Portuguese tactician’s contract with the Nigeria Football Federation expired after the 2023 Africa Cup of Nations, and there has been no talk of an extension from the NFF.
According to Soccernet, a clause in Peseiro’s contract reportedly stipulated that the NFF would consider extending his deal should Nigeria reach the semifinals of the AFCON.
Amuneke, however, has made himself available for the job should the football federation decide they want a new manager to take over the task of leading the Super Eagles for the foreseeable future.

Meanwhile, members of the Super Eagles team to the 2023 Africa Cup of Nations have been bestowed with national honours by President Bola Ahmed Tinubu on Tuesday, February 13, Sporting Tribune reports.
Tinubu has announced the conferment of the Member of the Order of the Niger (MON) on all Super Eagles team members after they secured the silver medal at Africa’s biggest football competition in Ivory Coast.
The Federal Government has also directed the Minister of the Federal Capital Territory (FCT) to award each member of the team a plot of land and a flat in an undisclosed location.
