Real Madrid winger Brahim Diaz electrified the pitch with a sensational solo goal, propelling Los Blancos into the lead against RB Leipzig.

The much-anticipated return of the Champions League unfolded on Tuesday night, with the Spanish La Liga powerhouse venturing to the Red Bull Arena Leipzig to face off against the German Bundesliga contenders.

Following a cautious first half, during which Leipzig had a goal disallowed by VAR due to offside, both teams entered the break deadlocked at 0-0.

However, just four minutes into the second half, Diaz orchestrated a moment of brilliance to break the stalemate.

After receiving a pass from Dani Carvajal, the Spanish maestro deftly evaded a defender before manoeuvring his way into the penalty area and unleashing an unstoppable strike past Peter Gulacsi, per Football Espana.

The breathtaking goal can be seen below.

In his celebration, Diaz appeared to pay homage to Jude Bellingham by extending his arms in the air, ESPN reported.

How Real Madrid pipped Leipzig

Leipzig were energetic but wasteful early, frequently undoing their good work with poor decision-making in the final third.

The hosts were made to pay early in the second half when Diaz opened the scoring.

Substituting for the sidelined Bellingham, Diaz elegantly wove past five Leipzig defenders before elegantly bending a precise shot into the far corner.

This victory marked Real Madrid's seventh consecutive win in this Champions League campaign, positioning them favourably to advance past the last 16 for the fourth consecutive season.

Why Bellingham missed Leipzig clash

Sports Brief reported earlier that Bellingham had sprained his left ankle against Girona in La Liga and was ruled out for up to three weeks.

The English international, boasting 20 goals in 29 matches across all competitions, was absent for the Champions League last 16 match against RB Leipzig.
