  • Ferguson is widely regarded as one of the most successful managers in the world
  • The former Man United boss won more than 40 titles during his managerial career
  • His most successful stint came at Old Trafford, where he won a record 13 EPL titles

Legendary Manchester United boss Sir Alex Ferguson has named the club he thinks will never win the Premier League title.

Fergie retired in 2013 after an illustrious managerial career at Old Trafford that saw him win the domestic crown a record 13 times.

Given his dominance and experience in the English topflight, Ferguson is undoubtedly better placed to deduce the dynamics of the division.

Over the weekend, the Scottish boss made a sensational claim regarding Tottenham Hotspur's chances of winning the EPL title.

According to the former tactician, the north Londoners will never taste Premier League glory.

Why Tottenham will never win the EPL

Per the former Manchester United boss, the Premier League has evolved so much that it will be difficult for Tottenham to win the title.

Speaking while in attendance at Newbury Racecourse this weekend, Ferguson gave a straight no when asked if Spurs stood any chance.

"No, ’61 was the last time they won it, well that’s a long time. The opposition today with Liverpool and Manchester City being so powerful in the Premier League," he was quoted saying in a video shared by @AtTheRaces.
"Even for United now, we’re having to fight," he added.

Metro UK reports that Fergie's claim comes at a time when Spurs are fighting to challenge for the EPL title under Ange Postecoglu.

The north Londoners currently sit fourth in the standings with 47 points following their 2-1 win over Brighton on Saturday.

The club last won the league title in 1961.

Arsenal backed to win the EPL

Earlier, Sports Brief reported on Manchester United legend, Dimitar Berbatov, backing Arsenal to win this season's Premier League title.

Despite the apparent stiff competition, Berbatov contends Arsenal are the favourites to lift the Premier League trophy this season.

However, the Bulgarian also had a warning for Arteta's men, noting that Man City cannot just be 'wished away' in the title race.
