  • Liverpool, Man City, and Arsenal are the frontrunners for this season's EPL title
  • City are keen to make history by lifting the crown for the fourth straight season
  • Pep Guardiola's charges currently sit five points behind league leaders Liverpool

A supercomputer has predicted the final Premier League table as the title race takes shape.

Liverpool cemented their lead at the top of the standings on Wednesday night following a 4-1 emphatic win over Chelsea at Anfield.

Diogo Jota, Conor Bradley, Dominik Szoboszlai, and Luis Diaz were all on target for the Reds as Jurgen Klopp's men carted home the three points.

City, the reigning champions, overcame Burnley at the Etihad Stadium to overtake Arsenal on the charts.

The Gunners are placed third with 46 points, three points ahead of Tottenham Hotspur, who complete the top-four podium.

Elsewhere, Manchester United sit ninth with 32 points ahead of their meeting with Wolves at Molineux on Thursday night, while Chelsea are 10th with 31 points.

Supercomputer makes EPL title prediction

With at least 16 games left to end the season, a supercomputer has predicted how the final EPL table could look in May.

According to Opta's prediction, reigning champions City are the favourites to lift the title for a historic fourth straight season.

City have been given a 54% chance to be crowned champions, while Liverpool are predicted to finish second in Klopp's final season with the club.

Arsenal, meanwhile, have been given just a 3% chance of ending their long wait for Premier League glory spanning more than two decades.

Chelsea fans fume over denied penalty

Earlier, Sports Brief reported on Chelsea fans taking to social media to express their fury after they were denied what they contend was a clear penalty.

Virgil van Dijk brought down Conor Gallagher in the area, but referee Paul Tierney declined to award the Blues a spot-kick.

The incident happened in the first half of the match, with the scores still scoreless.
