The Super Eagles are eyeing their fourth title while Ivory Coast are seeking their third AFCON crown, per Opta Analyst.

The two nations have had contrasting journeys to the final. The Elephants overcame setback after setback to reach the final, while Jose Peseiro's side are still undefeated in the competition.

Batubinsika, speaking exclusively to Sports Brief, said that the final would be hard to call but reminded everyone that Ivory Coast are at home.

"Playing at home could be an advantage for Ivory Coast, but you know Nigeria is a good team and let us remember this will be the final, and we will see how things will work out. One thing is that this is the final, and anything could happen, although Ivory Coast has a home advantage."

DR Congo were eliminated in the semi-final by Ivory Coast and will face South Africa in the third-place playoff, per CAF.

Nigeria's record in AFCON finals

Earlier, Sports Brief dissected Nigeria's history in the AFCON finals since they made their debut at the tournament in 1963.

The Super Eagles have played in seven AFCON finals in their history, and their record is not pretty.

Cameroon handed Nigeria the most defeats in the final. The Indomitable Lions first beat Nigeria in the 1984 AFCON finals, before beating them in two more finals.

Ivory Coast star hints at revenge against Nigeria

In another report, Sports Brief stated that Ivory Coast forward, Sebastien Haller, has hinted at seeking revenge against Nigeria.

The 29-year-old, who missed the previous meeting between both teams, was crucial in guiding Les Elephants to the final with a decisive goal against DR Congo.

The Borussia Dortmund star harbours hopes of lifting the AFCON title at the Stade Alassane Outtara.
