Cristiano Ronaldo had an evening to forget during Al Nassr's meeting with Al Hilal on Thursday evening.

The two Saudi Pro League heavyweights squared off in the final of the Riyadh Season Cup at the Kingdom Arena.

The crunch clash saw Ronaldo's Al-Nassr suffer an embarrassing defeat, with Al-Hilal's win seeing them win the tournament.

It was a nightmare start for Al-Nassr as they found themselves trailing after just 17 minutes following Sergej Milinkovic-Savic's opener.

Al-Hilal went on to double the lead in the 30th minute, courtesy of Salem Aldawsari.

Efforts by Al-Nassr to make a comeback in the game proved futile as their opponents held firm to win 2-0.

Ronaldo trolled with Messi chants

SPORTbible reports that Al-Hilal fans wasted no chance to troll Ronaldo, who had missed a golden opportunity earlier on.

A video shared on X by @Ron_YNWA had Al-Hilal supporters singing Messi chants in what was a clear dig aimed at the Portuguese forward.

Ronaldo responded by showing a thumbs up towards the crowd before performing the 'calm down' gesture.

Meanwhile, the five-time Ballon d'Or winner returned from injury recently, having been sidelined with a hamstring problem that saw him miss his side's clash against Messi's Inter Miami.

The 39-year-old will be hoping to find his scoring boots on Wednesday, February 14, when Al Nassr take on Al Feiha in the Round of 16 of the AFC Champions League.

Ronaldo gifts medal to young fan

At the same time, Sports Brief reported that Ronaldo warmed hearts after the match following decision to gift his runners-up medal to a young Al Hilal fan.

This action could be interpreted in various ways, considering the intense rivalry between Al-Hilal and Al-Nassr fans.
