Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang is a big admirer of Jurgen Klopp.

The Olympique Marseille attacker has praised the Liverpool boss and even discussed what he could bring to Barcelona if he were appointed as the new manager.

As noted by Football Espana, the La Liga champions are considering approaching the German to take over once Xavi Hernandez steps down.

Both Klopp and Xavi will be vacating their posts at the end of the current season.

Aubameyang praises Jurgen Klopp

Having played for the Spanish club, the Gabonese forward believes Klopp would be a good fit for them, Barca Universal reported.

“Klopp gives you everything, energy, he has won great titles, he is a good coach. If there is a chance for Barça he is a good option. It would be incredible if he could come,” he said.

Aubameyang’s relationship with Klopp

Having played under him at Borussia Dortmund, the former Arsenal star is no stranger to working with the German manager.

Aubameyang played 214 games for the Bundesliga side, scoring 141 goals and notching up 36 assists, Transfermarkt noted.

Aubameyang’s short stint at Barcelona

The former African Footballer of the Year only made 17 appearances for the Spanish side but made a big impression at the club.

He scored 11 times before Chelsea signed him, GOAL reported. He played just eight minutes of the 2022/23 season before moving to The Blues, enough to earn him a La Liga medal.

Aubameyang opens up on Barcelona spell

Aubameyang experienced a brief spell at FC Barcelona, but it was one of the best times during his career.

Sports Brief reported that the Gabonese striker has spoken highly of his time at the Spanish side after leaving Arsenal.

Aubameyang played only 24 games for the La Liga giants but scored 13 goals before Chelsea lured him back to the Premier League.
