Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang's career has been interesting in the last few seasons. He left Arsenal in unceremonious circumstances in February 2022, joined Barcelona briefly, then played for Chelsea and has now settled in France with Olympique Marseille.

The striker says his brief spell at Barcelona was the best in his long career.

Aubameyang joined Arsenal from Borussia Dortmund in 2018, and he quickly became one of the best strikers in the Premier League, even winning the Golden Boot in the 2018/19 season.

He also became captain of the club, but things slowly started to go south a few years later. His relationship with Mikel Arteta broke down due to disciplinary issues, resulting in him losing the armband before eventually leaving the club.

He scored 92 goals in 163 appearances at Arsenal.

At Barcelona, he experienced some sort of renaissance. He scored 13 goals in 24 matches in just four months at the club and had several standout performances.

Aubameyang speaks on Barcelona experience

The former Gabon international recently spoke about his time at Barcelona, and he has nothing but great memories.

“I think that my six months with Barcelona were the most beautiful period of my career. I enjoyed playing matches and training so much that I used to go to training on my days off,” via Barca Universal.

He left Barcelona in September 2022 to join Chelsea and endured a forgettable spell with the Blues.

He has scored five goals for Marseille so far this season.

Aubameyang scores first league goal in France

Former Arsenal striker Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang bagged his first goal in Ligue 1 since 2013 to help Olympique Marseille beat newly promoted side Le Havre 3-0, as Sports Brief earlier reported.

It was also the first win for new manager Gattuso, who was hired late last month after Marcelino stepped down just weeks into the season.

The 34-year-old former Borussia Dortmund striker scored Marseille's second after Le Havre's Arouna Sangante had scored an own goal in the early stages. Former Watford winger Ismaila Sarr scored the third late in the game following Aubameyqang's cheeky assist.
