"As part of our partnership and promoting mutual relations, Duhail Stars are taking part in the activities of the State Sports Day at Corniche Park and participating in the Doha Marathon on the 16th of this month," read a post from the club's Instagram handle.

The Doha Marathon offers diverse courses catering to various skill levels, encompassing a full marathon, half-marathon, 10km, 5km, special children’s 3km, and a 1km fun run.

While the race details are yet to be confirmed by Al Duhail, the 2023 edition witnessed 8,000 participants, with Morocco’s Mohcin Outalha and Ethiopian Meseret Belete clinching victory in the men's and women's categories, respectively.

With organisers aiming for 10,000 participants this year, the funds generated from the marathon will contribute to supporting charitable causes in Qatar.

Olunga, who recently recovered from an injury sustained in December, marked his return during a friendly match against Shanghai Shenhua.

Reflecting on a stellar 2023, the Harambee Stars striker played a pivotal role in Al Duhail's eighth Qatar Stars League triumph, securing the Golden Boot with an impressive 35 goals for club and country, as reported by Michezo Afrika.

Olunga also made interesting picks for The Best FIFA Men’s Awards. The iconic Lionel Messi claimed the event's leading award, clinching his seventh World Player of the Year title in The Best FIFA Men’s Player category. He participated in the voting process, and his top choices for the Men’s Player award included Lionel Messi, Kylian Mbappe, and Victor Osimhen, as reported by FIFA.

His selection echoed a global sentiment, with the Inter Miami man leading the tally with 52 points, closely trailed by Mbappe with 44, and Karim Benzema securing the third position with 34.
