The Kenyan striker bagged 35 goals for club and country in 2023, beating the likes of World Cup winner, Lionel Messi and Nigerian superstar, Victor Osimhen.

20 of his goals came in the second half of the 2022/23 campaign, while 12 came in the current league season. His other goals came in the National Cups and International Club tournaments, per IFFHS.

Cristiano Ronaldo had another incredible year and finished on top of the list with 54 goals ahead of the likes of Kylian Mbappe, Harry Kane, and Erling Haaland.

Olunga reacted by sharing the list on X with a biceps emoji. He is currently Kenya's best player, but unfortunately, he won't be gracing the upcoming Africa Cup of Nations tournament.

Harambee Stars will be watching the tournament from home.

Olunga bags brace for Kenya

In Kenya's 2026 World Cup qualifier, Olunga scored twice as Harambee Stars beat Seychelles on November 20, 2023, as Sports Brief previously reported. He scored twice after just five minutes to help Kenya win 5-0, after narrowly losing 2-1 to Gabon in their first qualifier tie.

Masoud Juma scored Kenya's third goal to put them up 3-0 in the first half. Rooney Onyango scored his first international goal to give Harambee Stars a four-goal lead, with Benson Omala adding a fifth. Engin Firat's men will play Burundi and Ivory Coast later this year.

Kenyan celebration on EA FC 24

Sports Brief has also reported that a goal celebration inspired by Kenyan international, Sven Yidah has made its way to the popular video game EA Sports FC 24.

The latest edition of the game, formerly known as FIFA, was released on September 29, 2023, with a number of additions to enhance the user experience.

One interesting new addition in EA Sports FC 24 is the usage of HyperMotion technology that aims to increase the authenticity of gameplay in the simulator.
