Napoli and Nigeria striker, Victor Osimhen has addressed his future despite signing a new contract with the Italian champions last month.

Osimhen inked a new deal with Napoli until 2025, but he continues to be linked with moves to Premier League sides, Chelsea and Arsenal.

He has scored eight goals and provided three assists in 18 games this season amid the Serie A champions' struggles this season.

He had 30 goal contributions in 32 Serie A games last season when they won their first league title in 33 years, per Transfermarkt.

The striker, currently with Nigeria at the 2023 Africa Cup of Nations, has addressed his future and is aware of the rumours about an apparent move to the EPL.

He told CBS Sports: "Of course, when you’re one of the hottest strikers in the world you expect this type of thing; it’s one of the biggest and best leagues in the world."
"Since I’ve started, I’ve been the one making my own decisions on everything and it’s working out well for me. I already know the next step I want to take so, for now, I just want to finish the season strong."

Osimhen meets Drogba at AFCON

Sports Brief also reported on Osimhen meeting with Didier Drogba in the tunnel after Nigeria beat AFCON 2023 hosts, Ivory Coast 1-0.

The Napoli star regards the former Chelsea striker highly and has spoken of him as one of the players he tries to model his game after.

Osimhen won the penalty that helped Nigeria win the group-stage clash and was also seen talking to ex-Liverpool ace, Djibril Cisse.

Osimhen scores in AFCON opener

Sports Brief also previously reported that Osimhen scored his first AFCON 2023 goal for Nigeria against Equatorial Guinea, as the three-time winners wasted little time showing their intent.

However, against the run of play, the West African giants conceded the opening goal following a sublime finish from the edge of the box by Iban Salvador, from a slick pass from Jose Machin.
