The 27-year-old missed the opening game after he delayed his AFCON arrival to play for the Red Devils before he was drafted into the starting XI against Senegal.

Incredibly, Onana shipped in three goals, leading to his axing from the team in the subsequent fixtures.

Onana ready to quit Cameroon

According to Goal, the former Ajax ace is looking at calling time on international football to concentrate on his Man United future.

The development comes at a time when Onana has endured a difficult start to life at Old Trafford since his arrival last summer for £47m.

A series of high-profile blunders have seen him court criticism from several quarters, with a section of fans calling for his axing from the team.

But in a bid to redeem himself, the Cameroonian is said to be looking at dedicating his focus to club football in the coming months.

This would not be the first time he has turned his back on the national team, having previously quit international football before he rescinded the decision ahead of the 2023 AFCON.

Fabrice Ondoa speaks on replacing his cousin

Sports Brief also reported on Fabrice Ondoa's comments after he replaced Onana in Cameroon's starting XI.

Onana was replaced by his cousin Ondoa after an abject performance against Senegal, where he conceded three.

Ondoa was diplomatic with his answer, stating it was up to the coaches and that the squad was there as a collective.
