Super captain Ahmed Musa has disclosed what it means to lead the Nigerian national team to the 2023 Africa Cup of Nations quarter-final in Ivory Coast.
Nigeria clinched the quarter-final ticket after their 2-0 win over the Indomitable Lions of Cameroon in the round of 16 on Saturday (January 27).
Former Leicester City star Ademola Lookman scored both goals of the game as the Super Eagles cruised past Rigobert Song's side.
In an exclusive chat with Sports Brief, Ahmed Musa explained what it means for him to captain the Super Eagles to the quarter-final of the competition.
"It's a big celebration for us, and we will just keep on concentrating for the next game," he said.
"Like I said earlier, we don't have to talk much. We just need to talk more on the pitch, as you can see in the game today; that's what we're doing.
"So we'll keep on [progressing] step by step into the next game."
The three-time African champions will face the Palancas Negras of Angola in the quarter-finals next month.
The Black Sable Antelopes were the first team to progress to the last eight after defeating the Brave Warriors of Namibia 3-0 in the first round of 16 clash.
