Who is Christopher Wooh?

Christopher Maurice Wooh was born on September 18, 2001, in Louvres, France.

He started his football journey with Puiseux Louvres, playing for their youth academy beginning in 2007.

Wooh moved to Chantilly in 2010 before concluding his youth career with a stint at Nancy. He started playing for their youth team in 2016 before making the jump to the club's senior ranks.

He started playing for Nancy's reserve team in 2018 before making his professional debut for the club on January 20, 2021, in a Coupe de France match against Sochaux. They lost that contest 1-0.

He scored two goals in 13 league appearances for Nancy in the 2020-21 season. Wooh decided to switch clubs the following season, joining Ligue 1 club Lens on a four-year deal in June 2021.

His move to Lens didn't last long, though, as Rennes acquired his services. They signed him to a four-year contract on August 31, 2022.

He has played 26 games for them, scoring four goals, per the club's official website.

Wooh's international career with Cameroon

Wooh had the option of representing either France or Cameroon on the international stage, as he is a citizen of both countries. His parents, who are both from Cameroon, convinced him to become a member of the Indomitable Lions.

He was selected by Cameroon coach Rigobert Song in 2022 to play for the Lions in the AFCON 2023 qualifiers. He made his debut for Cameroon in their AFCON qualifying match against Burundi on June 9, 2022, per Soccernet.

Wooh helped the Indomitable Lions secure qualification for the AFCON finals, scoring a goal in Cameroon's 3-0 win over Burundi on September 12, 2023.

Song also picked Wooh as one of his players in the AFCON tournament in Ivory Coast. Wooh rewarded his coach's faith in him, scoring the goal that sent Cameroon to the round of 16.

The Indomitable Lions needed a win over Gambia to seal their passage to the next round. Wooh delivered when his team needed him the most, scoring a header in second-half injury time.

Emotional Eto'o celebrates with victorious Cameroon

Sports Brief recently reported on Samuel Eto'o's reaction to Cameroon qualifying for the round of 16.

The president of the Cameroon Football Federation became emotional as he celebrated with the Indomitable Lions after their win over Gambia.

He broke down in tears following the comeback victory.
