They managed to secure a crucial equaliser when Jordan Ayew set up defender Alexander Djiku from a corner kick.

However, despite the seemingly positive turn of events for the Black Stars, a costly defensive mistake by Mohammed Salisu led to a late goal from Garry Rodrigues just two minutes before full-time. Sports Brief in a previous report highlighted Super Eagles of Nigeria coach Jose Peseiro went spiritual during his post-match press conference following the draw against Equatorial Guinea.

The 63-year-old attributed the result on the night to being the will of God.
