  • Jadon Sancho marked his Borussia Dortmund return with an assist
  • The winger came on as a sub in the 3-0 win over Darmstadt
  • Two Manchester United players publicly showed him support on social media

Jadon Sancho was publicly backed by two Manchester United players after a perfect start to life back with German club Borussia Dortmund.

The 23-year-old winger’s Manchester United career has not turned out as expected after a sensational £73m transfer to Old Trafford in 2021.

After a sensational fallout with United boss Erik ten Hag, Sancho made the switch back to his old club and was reintegrated back into the squad almost immediately by Edin Terzić.

Against SV Darmstadt, Sancho started on the bench but was eventually brought on in the 55th minute, with his side leading 1-0 courtesy of a first-half strike by Julian Brandt, as reported on Sky Sports.

Despite a lack of game time for more than five months, Sancho looked extremely comfortable on the ball at the Merck-Stadion am Böllenfalltor, and his impact was felt in the 77th minute.

He fed Marco Reus with a trademark winger’s cross to make it 2-0, with Youssoufa Moukoko rounding off the victory in added time.

2 Man United stars back Sancho

On social media, Sancho reacted by posting a photo of himself on Instagram in Dortmund colours and captioned it with two heart emojis, one yellow and the other black.

Hawk-eyed fans spotted two Manchester United stars were quick to show their support in the comment section.

One was Donny van de Beek, while the other was Luke Shaw, who is an integral figure in Erik ten Hag’s team.

Van De Beek understands Sancho’s plight at United very well, as he was also forced to leave the club on loan due to lack of game time. He is currently on loan at the Bundesliga as well, playing for Eintracht Frankfurt.

Sancho’s Instagram posts

After the loan move to Dortmund was completed, Sancho reactivated his social media, including his Instagram.

His IG only has three posts, all of which are Dortmund-themed.

In his initial announcement of his loan deal, his post attracted more than 1 million likes and superstars, including Jude Bellingham and Vinicius Junior showed him support.

Ten Hag’s take on Sancho

Meanwhile, Ten Hag also commented on Sancho’s loan move to Germany with subtle comments prior to United’s crunch game against Tottenham.

"I hope he's doing well, so I wish him the best of good luck. That's it. I hope he's doing well, and he'll be a success." He said, as quoted on Express Sport.
