Jadon Sancho is back!

The 23-year-old winger made an immediate impact for Borussia Dortmund as he teed up Marco Reus, barely 48 hours after completing his loan move back to the club.

Sancho was named on the bench for Dortmund for their trip to face SV Darmstadt, despite not playing for more than five months.

Dortmund, who were heavy favourites going into the clash, took the lead through Julian Brandt in the 24th minute.

Sancho was introduced in the game in the 55th minute and made his presence felt 22 minutes later with a fine pass to Marco Reus, who made no mistake from a few yards out.

Edin Terzic's side made it 3-0 late in the game through Youssoufa Moukoko in a win that took Dortmund to 30 points.

As Reus wheeled away in celebration, cameras caught the interaction between Sancho and the goal scorer Reus, and it was like the duo was never separated.

Sancho’s last Manchester United game was in August 2023, in the Red Devils’ 3-2 win over Nottingham Forest.

Since his exile from the Red Devils’ squad, Sancho has been reportedly ‘training hard’ to maintain his match fitness and it showed against SV Darmstadt.

What next for Dortmund?

Dortmund’s quest to sneak into the top four continues on January 20 continues when they come up against FC Koln on January 20.

This will be followed by a home game against VFL Bochum before a visit to the high-flying Heidenheim on February 2.

2 Man United stars back Sancho

Sports Brief also reported on the two Manchester United players who publicly backed Jadon Sancho after his assist in Dortmund colours.

Since his announcement that he would play for Dortmund for the remainder of the season, Sancho has received immense support from a number of superstar players including Jude Bellingham, Jesse Lingard and Vinicius Jnr.

And on Saturday, the public show of support continued after the 23-year-old shared a photo of himself celebrating a goal with his new teammates.
