Former Bafana Bafana goalkeeper Itumeleng Khune has reacted after making the Carling PSL All-Star XI despite being suspended by his club, Kaizer Chiefs.

Ahead of the Carling Cup game, Khune claimed that he is doing great despite the suspension and has been keeping fit, according to a report by FARPost.

"I am doing great; I am doing well. I think everyone has seen that I have been keeping fit.
"I have been training very hard because as a 24-hour pro you can't relax at any given time, you will never know where your destiny is."

The former South Africa national team captain also shared his views on being included in the PSL All-Star XI despite the whole issue with his club.

"And when they opened the votes for the fans to start voting, and I saw my name there, I told myself that whatever I am going through, it is a blessing in disguise, and I just had to stay ready for anything that is coming my way," he added.

Khune advised to 'retire'

Sports Brief earlier reported that a renowned agent, Mike Makaab, has urged Khune to 'retire' in order to give younger players a chance.

Makaab lauded the legendary goalkeeper but said the time was right for him to walk away and give the youngsters a chance.

"I do think it’s time for him to hand over the mantle, and how wonderful to see Bruce Bvuma who did so well. To see Bruce Bvuma coming into the starting XI, three clean sheets in three victories, time for the younger generation to start stamping their authority," via GOAL.
