AFCON 2023: Top 5 Best Jerseys at the Tournament As Ghana, Nigeria Make List

African teams are always known for their flare and eye-catching colours, and the 2023 Cup of Nations will once again put on show the high diversity of the colours of teams with their jerseys.

24 teams will fight for the continent’s biggest football prize when the AFCON kicks off in the Ivory Coast from January 13 to February 11, but before the tournament starts properly, the jersey battle has already begun.

According to Footy Headlines, out of the 24 national teams present at the 2023 AFCON, Puma will kit by far the most countries with six, while Lacatoni is the only other brand to outfit more than one team.

There are 18 different sportswear manufacturers in total present at the AFCON, including top brands like Adidas, Nike, and Puma, although none of the top three brands will be releasing new jerseys for the competition.

1. Nigeria away

The Nike Nigeria 2023 AFCON away jersey is white with a unique black pattern on the sleeves. The same pattern can also be seen on the Nike Nigeria 2022 anthem jacket.

Green applications are used for parts of the collar and the sleeve cuffs of the Nigeria 2023 away shirt. The Swoosh is black.

2. Ghana away

Introducing a striking look, the Puma Ghana 2023 AFCON away shirt is mainly red with a slightly darker central vertical stripe on the front. Puma's logo sits inside said stripe and is yellow, while it is also present on each sleeve.

Based on Puma's ubiquitous design for World Cup 2022 away shirts, the Puma Senegal AFCON 2023 jersey is mainly green with a trademark box on the front and a central dark green stripe.

4. Mali Home

The Airness Mali 2023 AFCON kits have an impressive design. They combine a blank base with a tricolour eagle design in the centre, plus claw marks in Mali's colours at the side of the shirt.

5. Egypt Away

The Puma Egypt 2023 AFCON away football shirt is plain white with a black round neck collar and cuffs. Puma's logo and Egypt's badge are centrally placed. A circle with a gold pattern around the edges sits in the centre of the Puma Egypt 2022 away shirt as part of Puma's design theme for their away shirts.
