FootballJosef Zinnbauer Facing Questions at Raja Casablanca Over Former Mamelodi Sundowns Recruit
- Josef Zinnbauer took charge of Raja Casablanca in June this year
- The German soon signed Haashim Domingo from Mamelodi Sundowns
- Domingo has not lit up Morocco in the way the fans or his coach expected
A brief window may be too short a time to gauge an impact.
Hasshim Domingo signed for Raja Casablanca from Mamelodi Sundowns six months ago but the adventure has not been fruitful just yet.
The 28-year-old midfielder is fond of travelling, having played in Portugal and Norway before his time at Wits University and Sundowns.
Raja Casablanca coach Josef Zinnbauer brought Domingo to Raja on a free transfer. The player has made just seven appearances for his new club, creating the impression that the arrangement may not work.
He made his debut in the Botola Pro 1 opener against Berrechild, coming on as a late substitute but still managing to earn himself an injury-time yellow card in a 3-1 win.
Domingo's impact has been limited to the substitutes bench, amassing a total of 218 goalless playing minutes, as per TransferMarkt.
The Cape native had a productive spell at Sundowns and Wits, making 10 goal contributions in 57 games for The Students, and 11 goal contributions for Masandawana in the 57 games he played them.
Patience is allegedly wearing thin with Domingo in Morocco, with Soccer Laduma reporting questions are being asked of the signing.
The publication elaborated that those close to the player claim he is battling injury but no word of such has come from the club.
Raja currently sit second on the Botola Pro 1 log after 12 games. They are two points behind AS Far and one point ahead of city rivals Wydad, who also have a game in hand.
