  • Rasmus Hojlund scored his first Premier League goal for Manchester United
  • He completed a 3-2 comeback win for United against Aston Villa at Old Trafford
  • The Danish striker could not hide his joy and sent a message to the Red Devils fans

Rasmus Hojlund is the happiest man on earth after netting his first Premier League goal for Manchester United, and he is thanking the fans in his post.

United went 2-0 down in the first half to high-flying Aston Villa, and it looked like another defeat at the iconic stadium was on the cards and more pressure would be on Erik ten Hag.

Young winger Alejandro Garnacho scored three goals, but the first was chalked off for offside in the build-up to draw the game level in the second half.

Striker Rasmus Hojlund sealed the win for the team with his first Premier League goal on his 15th game, and it could not have come at a better time for him and the team.

Hojlund sends message to fans

Per BR Football, the Denmark striker’s goal meant United remained unbeaten on Boxing Day, a run that began in 1978 but would have ended yesterday.

The former Atalanta striker took his excitement to his Instagram page, congratulated the team, and thanked the fans who supported him during his dry spell.

“What a comeback guys. Thanks for the support towards me and the team today. You deserved this @manchesterunited,” he wrote.

Despite his dry spell in the league, the Danish forward scored five goals in the UEFA Champions League group stage, but it was not enough to save ten Hag’s men from early elimination.

A trip to the City Ground to play Nottingham Forest in the final fixture of the year awaits for United.
