FootballWhy Turkish Club Is Set to Part Ways With Super Eagles Star After 6 Months
- Istanbul Basaksehir set to part ways with Nigeria forward Emmanuel Dennis
- Dennis joined the Turkish club only last summer from Nottingham Forest
- Dennis has been listed in Nigeria’s provisional AFCON squad
Emmanuel Dennis’ dream move to Turkish giants Istanbul Basaksehir has turned out a nightmare for the Super Eagles striker after only six months with the club.
The Super Eagles striker, who joined the Super Lig club on loan from Nottingham Forest in the summer transfer window, has only made eight appearances for the Turkish club.
According to Soccernet, Basaksehir will not renew or attempt to buy Dennis on a permanent deal as they have been unimpressed with the 26-year-old forward’s time at the club.
The Turkish giants are open to cutting Dennis’ one-year loan deal short to just six months as they are open to the Nigerian returning to parent club Nottingham Forest in the January transfer window.
Dennis has had no goal contributions for Basaksehir and coach Cagdas Atan does not see the Super Eagles striker as an important figure at the Turkish club.
Dennis transfer market value drops
Meanwhile, Emmanuel Dennis, who is on loan at Istanbul Basaksehir from Premier League side Nottingham Forest, has seen his transfer value drop to 5.5 Million Euros, Score Nigeria reports.
The 26-year-old forward is having an underwhelming spell in Turkey, making zero goal contributions in eight appearances for the Turkish club since his loan switch in the summer.
Dennis’ highest valuation was 17 Million Euros in May 2020 when he still featured for Belgian top side Club Brugge before joining English Premier League club Watford in 2021 where he spent two seasons.
Everton eye move for Dennis
Earlier, Sports Brief reported Premier League giants Everton are now looking for a good replacement for Brazilian star Richarlison who has joined Tottenham and Super Eagles striker Emmanuel Dennis is one of their targets.

FootballEverton's financial issues have been eased following Richarlison's move to Tottenhan and the club are now looking for a striker they can pay less to have this summer.
And according to the report on Complete Sports, Dennis is one of those being considered and the Hornets could be tempted to sell if an offer of around £20m comes in.
