  • Arsenal returned to the top of the Premier League table after beating Brighton
  • Liverpool's failure to beat Manchester United confirmed the Gunners' top spot
  • Former Chelsea boss Jose Mourinho has named two teams to win the EPL title

Arsenal returned to the top of the Premier League table this weekend, but former Chelsea boss, Jose Mourinho still does not think they will win the title.

The Gunners beat Brighton and Hove Albion 2-0 at the Emirates Stadium to return to the top of the table momentarily until Liverpool played Manchester United later.

Despite supposedly dominating the game, the Reds failed to beat their archrivals at Anfield. Per Opta, Jurgen Klopp’s men played 34 shots without scoring, their highest since 2008.

Current champions, Manchester City currently sit fourth, four points behind surprise package, Aston Villa, after surrendering a two-goal lead to draw 2-2 with Crystal Palace.

Mourinho picks 2 potential title winners

Former Chelsea boss, Mourinho has shared his thoughts on the Premier League title race, which at this point could be termed a five-horse race as only six points separate first and fifth.

The Special One, speaking on the Obi One Podcast, named two teams he is tipping for the title but mischievously ignored the team at the top of the table.

"Man City 51%, and Liverpool 49%," he said.

When asked if he thinks Arsenal could claim the title this season, he replied, 'Nah' with a face that communicated disgust and sarcasm simultaneously.

Mourinho won three league titles over two spells as Chelsea boss, and he enjoyed a rivalry with the North London club, particularly with Arsene Wenger, whom he beat on the pitch and aimed digs at in press conferences, famously calling him a 'specialist in failure'.

Per Evening Standard, the former Real Madrid boss played against the Gunners legend 18 times, winning nine, drawing seven, and losing only two times.
