Nigeria forward Victor Osimhen presented his Africa Player of the Year award to fans of Napoli before their Serie A game against Cagliari on Saturday.

The Super Eagles star was crowned the 2023 CAF best player after an outstanding year with the Italian outfit, leading them to the Scudetto title for the first time in 33 years.

Osimhen beat competition from Liverpool's Mohamed Salah and Achraf Hakimi of Morocco to win the award.

In a video shared on social media, Osimhen is seen with his family and the award as he waves at fans of the club while he was being presented at the Diego Armando Maradona stadium.

Osimhen scored in midweek as Napoli beat Braga to progress in the UEFA Champions League.

The 24-year-old has reportedly inked a new long-term deal with the club as he eyes more success with the Naples-based club.

Last season, Osimhen also became the first African player to win the Golden Boot in Italy.

Napoli will miss the lethal attacker in January and February due to the Africa Cup of Nations in Ivory Coast.

Earlier, Sports Brief reported that Nigerian forward, Victor Osimhen stole the show at the 2023 CAF Awards after showing his dancing moves towards the end of the event.

The Napoli striker was named the Player of the Year in Africa following an impressive year with the Italian giants and the Super Eagles.

Osimhen led the Naples club to their first league title in 33 years while also winning the Golden Boot, becoming the first African to achieve the feat.

Sports Brief also reported that Nigeria forward Victor Osimhen paid a glowing tribute to all the African football legends who played a role in shaping his career after being crowned Player of the Year at the 2023 CAF Awards.

The Napoli star beat off competition from Liverpool's Mohamed Salah and Morocco's Achraf Hakimi to win the award for the first time in Marrakech, Morocco.

Osmimhen becomes the fifth Nigerian to win the award following in the footsteps of the legendary Rashidi Yekini and Emmanuel Amuneke.
