Osimhen was also included in the Serie A Team of the Year, as reported by Soccernet Nigeria.

Last season, the Super Eagles star scored 31 goals in 39 games, playing a key role as Napoli reached the quarter-finals of the UEFA Champions League.

Osimhen also made the top 10 for the 2023 Ballon d'Or, which Argentina legend, Lionel Messi ultimately won.

Despite struggles with injuries this season, the Nigerian international remains the favourite to win the 2023 African Player of the Year award.

Sports Brief also previously reported on Osimhen reportedly rejecting a contract extension with Napoli amid growing interest from the Premier League.

The Nigerian international has been one of the top players in Europe since last season when he led the Neapolitans to their first league title in 33 years.

The former Lille striker has been linked with a move away from the Parthenopeans and his current contract with the club ends in the summer of 2025.

The Super Eagles striker is rated as one of the best in the world alongside the likes of Harry Kane, Erling Haaland, and Kylian Mbappe due to his recent displays.

Osimhen has just 18 months left on his contract with the Italian league champions and has reportedly turned down inking a new deal with the Parthenopeans.
